How HomeServicesCo works
What is HomeServicesCo?
HomeServicesCo is a matching service that connects homeowners with licensed local contractors. You tell us what you need, we route your request to up to 4 vetted pros in your ZIP, and they reach out — usually within 5 minutes. We're free for homeowners, every time.
How long does it take to get matched?
Most homeowners hear from at least one pro within 5 minutes of submitting. All 4 matched pros usually reach out within an hour. Emergency requests (storm damage, AC out, no heat, active leak) often get same-day response.
Do I have to pick one of the matches?
No. Compare the quotes, ask the questions you want answered (license, insurance, references, warranty), and pick the contractor whose price + timeline + communication feel right. You can also just walk away — there's no obligation to hire anyone.
What if I'm not happy with the matches?
Email support@homeservicesco.com and tell us what didn't work. We'll re-match you with a different set of pros, or in some cases route your request to a different vertical (e.g., switching from a roofer to an insurance restoration specialist).
Can I get same-day or emergency service?
Yes — many pros in our network offer same-day appointments and 24/7 emergency availability. Pick the "ASAP" or "Emergency" option on the form and you'll be routed to pros who specifically take urgent work.
Pricing & payments
Is HomeServicesCo really free for homeowners?
Yes. We never charge homeowners — not for matching, not for quotes, not for anything. Our marketing partners (the contractors) pay us when we route their leads. That's our entire business model.
Do I pay HomeServicesCo for the work?
No. You pay the contractor directly, after work is complete (or on the schedule you and they agree to). HomeServicesCo isn't involved in the transaction — we just make the introduction.
How much do quotes typically cost?
It varies hugely by service and project. Each service page on this site has a cost guide showing typical 2025 prices for that vertical. The quotes you receive should be itemized — labor, materials, disposal, permits — so you can compare apples-to-apples.
What if a contractor's price is way higher than expected?
Get a second quote. Or a third. The whole point of matching with up to 4 pros is so you have something to compare against. If one quote is wildly out of line with the others, that's a signal — usually that the high one is overcharging or the low one is missing scope.
Contractors & quality
How do you vet contractors?
Before any contractor joins our network, we verify state licensing, active general-liability insurance, and (where applicable) workers' comp coverage. We re-verify annually. We also pull contractors whose customer satisfaction drops — we'd rather have a smaller network of solid pros than a big one with bad apples.
Can I see reviews of the contractors before they call?
Not directly through us — that's a feature we're working on. For now, when a contractor reaches out, search their company name on Google + your state's licensing board. Both should turn up reviews and license status.
What if a contractor doesn't show up or doesn't communicate?
Email support@homeservicesco.com with the company name and what happened. We track this and pull contractors whose response rate or no-show rate is unacceptable. Your feedback directly shapes who stays in the network.
Do you offer any guarantee on the work?
We don't perform the work ourselves, so we can't guarantee the contractor's craftsmanship — that's between you and them, and most reputable pros offer their own workmanship warranty (usually 1-5 years on labor + the manufacturer warranty on materials). Always confirm warranty terms in writing before signing.
Privacy & contact
Who sees my contact info?
Only the contractors we match you with — up to 4 of them, all licensed and serving your ZIP — see your name, phone, email, and project details. We don't sell your information to general marketing lists or aggregators.
Why am I getting calls from contractors I didn't expect?
Each match goes to up to 4 pros, so you can compare. If you're getting calls from someone NOT in our matched set, that's likely a different lead-gen platform (we're not the only one). The TCPA disclosure on our form lists exactly who's authorized to contact you. Anyone not on that list is operating outside our scope.
How do I stop receiving calls and texts?
Reply STOP to any text message — you'll be unsubscribed instantly. For calls, tell the contractor you don't wish to be contacted further. To revoke consent across all matched pros at once, email support@homeservicesco.com. See our TCPA Disclosure for full revocation methods.
Do you keep records of my submissions?
Yes — we retain submission records (the disclosure you agreed to, the date, your IP, the matched pros) for at least 5 years to comply with federal TCPA recordkeeping requirements. We also retain your contact data while we're providing service. See our Privacy Policy for the full retention breakdown and how to request deletion.
Can I request to delete my data?
Yes. Email privacy@homeservicesco.com from the address on file (or include enough info to verify identity) and we'll delete what we can — within the limits of legal recordkeeping requirements (TCPA proof-of-consent records have to stick around for 4-5 years even after deletion requests).
Services & coverage
What services can I book through HomeServicesCo?
Roofing (repair, replacement, inspection, storm damage), HVAC (AC, heating, install, repair), electrical (panel upgrades, wiring, outlets, EV charger install), plumbing (leaks, water heater, drain cleaning), gutters (cleaning, install, guards), and holiday lighting. We're adding new categories as our network grows.
Do you cover my area?
We have contractor coverage in most U.S. metro areas. The fastest way to find out is to enter your ZIP on the form for the service you need — if we have pros covering your area, you'll get matched. If not, we'll let you know rather than wasting your time.
Can I request a specific contractor?
Not directly through the matching form, but if you have a specific company in mind that's already in our network, you can mention it in your request and we'll prioritize routing to them. If they're not in our network, you should reach out to them directly.
